Nepal Banned PUBG - Invoking Its Negative Impact On Children

On Thursday, Nepal banned the most popular online among youth i.e. PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. According to the government, its violent content marks a negative impact on children. Let’s discuss Nepal PUBG ban and what officials have to say.

Tencent games launched PUBG launched in 2017. The game has a huge fan following all over the world. This game was developed by Lightspeed and Quantum studio. It was published by South Korean firm Bluehole Inc.

It is basically a survival theme game in which players are dropped on an island at various locations. Then these players try to eliminate each other for their own survival.

Youth is very much addicted to this online game. You can observe many girls and boys yelling on each other while playing this game. There are several cases of deaths due to the deep engrossment in PUBG.

Deputy Director at Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Sandip Adhikari said, “We have ordered the ban on PUBG because it is addictive to children and teenagers.” Notably, NTA is Nepal’s telecoms regulator.

Mr Adhikari said, “Following a request from the Himalayan nation’s federal investigation authority, the regulator directed all internet service providers, mobile operators and network service providers to block streaming of the game from Thursday onwards.”

The ban will come into effect from Thursday.

Sachin Adhikari also said that there are no reports of any incident regarding this game in Nepal. But, the nation did this as parents were concerned about their children being distracted from their studies or other normal routine work.

However, it seems youth will not like this decision at all due to their addiction to the game.
